We follow Christi and her daughter Chloe as they claw their way through another week at the Abby Lee Dance Company, where landing a quintuple pirouette can mean the difference of being the top of the pyramid or giving touch-ups to a taxidermied Broadway Baby. When Chloe unexpectedly lands at the top of the pyramid, Christi must decide how far she's willing to go to keep her there—even if it means redefining motherhood and figuring out what it means to be a good mom, a dance mom.
